Website Visitors

  • We collect and record anonymous information transmitted by your browser.
  • We collect your IP address and can associate it with your WordsEye account when you are logged in. Sometimes we record users activites on our site.
  • We do not generally share this information with anyone.
Like most website operators, WordsEye Inc ("WordsEye", "we") collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web clients, and servers typically make available, such as browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. WordsEye's purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how WordsEye's visitors use its website. From time to time, WordsEye may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.
WordsEye also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. WordsEye may also monitor and record your interaction with the WordsEye website. Such information may be associated with a WordsEye user accounts if the user is logged in. WordsEye only discloses such information under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses other personally-identifying information as described below.

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

  • When you set up an account we store your username, real name, e-mail address, and other information you provie.
  • When you use paid services we store additional personal and financial information.
  • When you login to WordsEye using Facebook we store some information from your Facebook profile. We never store your Facebook login information.
  • We also store specific Facebook photos if you use these photos in a scene.
  • We publish some of this information on our website as defined in the terms of service, but we will not generally share your personal information to anyone.

On Our website

When a Visitor to WordsEye's websites sets up a user account with WordsEye we gather certain personally-identifying information, including but not limited to username, real name, social media profile information, and email address. Those who engage in commercial transactions with WordsEye are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. In each case, WordsEye collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor's interaction with WordsEye.

Through Social Media Connectors

If authorized by you (for instance if you use Facebook to login to WordsEye), we may access and store profile and other personally identifiable information provided by other websites to provide service and collect aggregated statistics. For Facebook we may collect and store your name, email address, date of birth, location, likes, list of friends. We do not gain access your Facebook password. We may also access and store your Facebook photos if you authorize us. See our terms of service for how we may use your photos.

WordsEye does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

Aggregated Statistics

  • We collect and may publish anonymized statistics about user behavior on our site.
  • We do not publish or disclose individual personal information.
WordsEye may collect and publish statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. However, WordsEye does not disclose personally-identifying information about individual users other than as described below.

Disclosure of Personally-Identifying Information

  • We disclose your information only to employees, contractors and organizations affiliated with us to provide service. These organizations may be located in countries that have laws different from your home country's.
  • We will share your information with law-enforcement if required by law or in some cases to legally protect our own property.
  • We may share limited information with other websites when you share content to these sites (e.g. Facebook).
WordsEye discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on WordsEye's behalf or to provide services available at WordsEye's websites, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using WordsEye's websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. WordsEye will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations, as described above, WordsEye discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when WordsEye believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of WordsEye.
When you use WordsEye to upload content to other websites (e.g. share on Facebook) we may submit some of your information to these websites only as necessary to provide service.

Data Storage and Security

  • We take measures to protect your information from unauthorized access.
  • We store your information on our servers, which may be located in any country.
  • If your account is terminated or canceled we keep your user content and some personal information, such as your user name. We keep publishing this content on our website. You can request us to delete your user content.
  • We will keep other personalized information for a limited amount of time. You can request us to delete this information, but we may be required by law to reatain some records.
We take reasonable steps to secure your personally-identifiable information, potentially personally-identifiable information and user content against unauthorized access, disclosure, or use, alteration, and destruction.. However, no security or encryption method can be guaranteed to protect information from hackers or human error.

Information we collect may be stored or processed by WordsEye's employees, contractors and affiliated organizations located outside your home country.

Following termination or deactivation of your account, WordsEye may retain personally identifiable information and potentially personally identifiable information for a reasonable amount of time. We may retain and publish user content and some user information necessary to display this content indefinitely. You can contact us at support.wordseye.com/contact to request removal of your information following termination of your account, in which we will only keep information necessary to comply with existing laws of the United States and the State of New York, and we will no longer publish your user content and profile information on the WordsEye website.

If you are a registered user of WordsEye, we may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, inform you about new content we believe is relevant to you, or just keep you up to date with what going on with WordsEye and our products. You have the right to opt out of receiving general e-mail of this type. We will never send you general marketing emails advertising products other than those relating to WordsEye's service. WordsEye may also send you email concerning your user account, information we store, and about policy changes that apply to you. If you send us a request (for example via a support email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it in anonymized form in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users.

Cookies

  • For WordsEye to work properly we need to set cookies in your browser.
A http cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor's computer, and that the visitor's browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. WordsEye uses cookies to help WordsEye identify and track visitors, their usage of WordsEye website, and their website access preferences. Cookies are necessary for WordsEye to identify users while they interact with the site and to provide a better user experience. WordsEye visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using WordsEye's websites, with the drawback that most features of WordsEye's websites may not function properly without the aid of cookies.

Business Transfers

  • If we sell WordsEye Inc or go out of business for any reason, your user information may be transferred to another entity.
  • In this case this Privacy Policy still applies.
If WordsEye Inc, or substantially all of its assets, were acquired, or in the event that WordsEye goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, user information would be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of WordsEye may continue to use your personal information as set forth in this Privacy Policy.

Although most changes are likely to be minor, WordsEye may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, and in WordsEye's sole discretion. WordsEye encourages visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to its Privacy Policy. Your continued use of this site after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.
